Antique Pyrographic Folk Art. This piece is a serving tray and has been dated to be from around 1890 – 1920. Probably used in a bar to serve beers or other adult beverages. There is a picture of a rooster in the center. Around the edge are the Latin words “Dum Vivimus Vivamus” translates to “Enjoy Life” Pyrography is just another word for wood burning. So, of course, the image of the rooster and the words around the edge are "burnt" into the wood.Interesting and unusual. Can't find a signiture on this, I would assume it's a "one of a kind". Measures 16” across.
There was glass covering the picture in the center, but I removed it since it had broken sometime in the past.
